YUKON BIKER BAD BILL, iI just checked the route to Prudhoe Bay from Fairbanks. ONLY 499 MILES give or take a few feet. highway AK-!! N/N slope Haul Road - Dalton hwy. Wow bummer about loosing cell but I'm suprised you had it till this far. It's only about 4 inchs on my computer screen to Prudhoe Bay. So you know the trip is coming to an end. When you get to PB make sure you have a big big steak. take care fromt the Yooper

Bill Thursday, July 28, 2016 03:10 PM
Hey Yooper Kach,
I didn't have time for steak in PB, but you can be sure I did in KC.

Bill,

I haven't checked in on you in about 10 days and just got caught up this morning. Love the posts and pictures. What a great story for your future book. You are now in the home stretch and too far away for me to do another drive-by.
Travel safely. Torger Omdahl is pulling for you.

Bill Monday, July 18, 2016 12:32 AM

I took a couple weeks off again from following you and spent all morning catching up. Love all the journal posts and pictures. Now, the home stretch. You are too far out of my range to do another drive-by, so I look forward to seeing you back in the lower 48 when mission accomplished.
BTW, Torger Omdahl is pulling for you.

Bill Monday, July 18, 2016 12:27 AM
Thank God Torger has my back :)
Glad you are still following Mike.

Yukon, Congratulation on crossing into Alaska. An update from your milage log shows your travel from Key West to Delta Junction was 5831 miles at an average of 56 miles per day. Distance remaining to Prudoe Bay should be approximately 600 miles. This should be about 12 travel days. Also, it seems that you will be riding your gator skin tires the rest of the trip. If you run into gravel roads, deflate your tires about 10 - 15 pounds. This should make for better rolling, and reduce the likelihood of pinch flats. Keep up the good work. The best is yet to come.

Bill Monday, July 18, 2016 12:24 AM
Thanks Heavy Dude Dan,
It took 8 days for one and 12 days for another guy I met that just rode down from p bay to Fairbanks. They were both capable of 100 mile days, so it will be much slower than average. Plan to deflate tires some, thanks.

Wild Bill, just finished reading a chunk of current journal entries. You've gone through a lot of obstacles, but are fortunate to have met up up with some
wonderful people. I can't believe you've had so many flats, and still managed to make it to destination on schedule. Looking forward to your return to E Town!

I'm sure I'm not the only one waiting to hear from you this morning confused .... Looks like about 135 mi to the boarder. I only recall frost heaves along that stretch when I was through there on the motorcycle. There's a gas station with a couple of rooms upstairs on the Canada side right at the boarder. A rather ODD couple running the place but I stayed there one night. Keep the spirits up! It amazes me every time I open the Journal map on your page!!

Bill Wednesday, July 13, 2016 08:35 PM

I didn't have service until today. I'll provide updates soon, and thanks for the concern.

Yukon Biker Bad Bill, would you please next time check into a room instead of staying outside. Other Yooper's to follow??? Well I don't know the Brunswicks social media stuff. Patsy says something on Facebook.
it only looks like you have 2 inches on my computer screen using Google Earth. Destruction Bay even shows up. Thats a big lake there.
Ok for now

Bill Wednesday, July 13, 2016 08:33 PM

I didn't have service yesterday, but am glad to be beyond Destruction Bay and its dusty roads under construction. Updates are coming.

Yukon Biker Bag Bill, i glad to follow your exciting journey. Still sounds like lots of people going every which way. You will have a ton of stories when you get back. If you haven't thought of it yet, back in KC start writing down all you can remember. I'm sure you will be able to lists everything. Thanks for the pics and especially the pics of people. that guy with the rig shaw?? hum

Take care - the YOOPER.

Bill Monday, July 11, 2016 11:21 AM
Hey Kach, I actually plan to write a book so I will need to try and recall everything. There are so many interesting people I wish I would have taken a pic of, but sometimes not possible. I would love to hear from other Yoopers like yourself.

Still enjoying reading about your journey. I gotta tell you, I'm tired reading about the miles, you must be exhausted!?! I remember my son telling me the last miles he did on his 3600+ride were the toughest AND the most exhilarating in knowing what he DID accomplish! Your ride is longer and you are 3xs older thanthan he was! High five!!! Super proud of your journey and I'm also enjoying reading about all of the amazing people you are meeting along the way. You're right about the bears, as long as they hear you and you don't upset their cubs, they typically won't bother you. The scenery from your pictures really solidifies the awesome beauty of God all around us. Keep staying safe my friend. 😀

Bill Sunday, July 10, 2016 10:43 PM
Thank you Melissa, that must have been a great experience for your son. The new scenery I rode into today has put a new spark in me, and when I hit Alaska, although the roads there will be the most challenging, I know I will be driven to complete the journey.

Hi Bill, I'm glad to hear that your not feeding the bears!Let them eat berries! (Or is that cake?) Marilyn & I are leaving on Saturday the 9th for Anchorage AK. then on up to Denali. I wish the timing would have worked out, it would have been a blast to have spent some time with you on this adventure. I guess it will have to wait until you get back home. Keep an eye out for lemmings, they run in packs you know. Ha! Take good care my friend.

Bill Friday, July 8, 2016 02:45 PM
Hey Bob, it would have been great to cross paths with you guys, and yes, let's get together when we're back and share pics and adventures.
